Cancún ha tenido que liar con un grave problema desde la llegada de los taxis por aplicación como Uber, Didi, InDrive y demás, incluso se ha visto a taxistas golpear a extranjeros que se han negado a pagar tarifas abusivas, y hasta violentar a otros trabajadores de aplicación por el hecho de salir a las calles a trabajar.
Ahora, un atleta y deportista canadiense, Xavier Cormier, ha denunciado un abuso por parte de un taxista del Aeropuerto Internacional de Cancún, que le cobró mil dólares (17 mil pesos mexicanos) por llevarlo de la terminal 2 a la terminal 4, que prácticamente puede llegar uno caminando.

Canadiense exhibe abusos en Aeropuerto
Xavier Cormier vino de vacaciones a las paradisíacas playas de Cancún, Quintana Roo, sin embargo, su viaje se tornó en toda una pesadilla, pues cuando ya iba al aeropuerto para viajar de regreso a Montreal, Canadá, un taxista del lugar le cobró mil dólares por llevarlo de la terminal 2 a la 4, viaje que según el canadiense, primero le iba a costar 5 dólares (unos 85 pesos mexicanos).
Xavier documentó esta terrible experiencia que tuvo en el aeropuerto de Cancún a través de una serie de videos que subió a su perfil de Tik Tok, donde además aseguró haber sido testigo de toda una red de corrupción entre los taxistas y los agentes de seguridad del aeropuerto.
“Estaba sólo con dos hombres de seguridad, quienes me dijeron que no podía estar solo afuera de la terminal, y me presionaron para tomar el único taxi que había disponible. Me presionaron para pagar con tarjeta de crédito, pero yo no quería.”, explica en la descripción de un video de 6 partes que subió Xavier.
Xavier tuvo que hacer caso a las órdenes de la gente de seguridad, una vez que llegó a la otra terminal, se dio cuenta que le habían cobrado mil dólares en vez de los 5 que le dijeron. En ese momento el turista empezó a llamar a la policía para reportar el abuso por parte del taxista, identificado como Eduardo Galicia Guadarrama.
Xavier casi sale herido por el taxista
Ante el reclamo del turista, el taxista quiso intentar detenerlo de llamar a la policía, sin embargo no lo logró, el desespero y ver que estaba en aprietos, el conductor se quiso dar a la fuga con las maletas en la cajuela todavía, sin embargo, Xavier saltó hacía el cofre del auto y logró poner en ‘Parking’ el automóvil.
Xavier dijo en el video que casi se rompe la pierna al tratar de detener al taxista, pero que logró detenerlo y salvar su equipaje. Elementos de la policía y Guardia Nacional se percataron de los hechos para llegar a auxiliar al hombre, sin embargo, Xavier argumenta y sostiene que tanto los taxistas como agentes de seguridad del aeropuerto forman parte del sistema de corrupción que hay en el lugar. El canadiense pudo llegar tranquilo a su país, pero con un trago amargo que le dejó el taxista y personal del aeropuerto.

I was still in the car and the situation escalated at the Terminal 4 where I managed to get the attention of the touriste and traveler waiting for they flights. When the taxi saw the security he tried to escape with me and my luggage in the car but I manage to jump in the front of the car and shift the transmission on Park which almost result in a car accident. The airport security arrived just in time before situation got even more crazy. I filled a report number against the driver and the taxi airport , I believe some of the cops and security agent over there where also in the scam because they wanted me to go the police station to press charge against the driver but to only get rid of my story and all the proof I have against the scam system at the airport including Security and the Airport Taxi Company. I believe if I would stop the car in time something even worst was waiting for me. Are these scammers still working at the Cancun Airport?!
